August 2006 ~ Zeal

I have long enjoyed and explored the concept of the Twelve Powers and have found that they provide a helpful framework for the relationship between principle and practice. This year I am sharing my “power poems” in my “jottings” column. Each poem is combined with a quote from Charles Fillmore’s writings, a scripture, and an affirmation, I hope you will find these “Power Pages” interesting and inspiring.

“Zeal is the mighty force that incites the winds, the tides, the storms. Zeal is intensity, ardor, enthusiasm, the inward fire of the soul, the affirmative impulse of existence that urges man onward.” Revealing Word, page 216

Zeal is a passion ~
a feeling of urgency,
a fire in the blood.

Zeal is a passion ~
a hunger for meaning,
a clear direction.

Zeal is a passion ~
a sensing of destiny,
a quiet calling.

Zeal is a passion ~
a true commitment,
a vow to stay the course.

Zeal is a passion ~
a breath in the body,
a light in the mind,
a song in the heart,
a peace in the soul.

Zeal is a passion.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5; 6

Affirmation: I am alive, alert, awake and enthusiastic about life!

July 2006 ~ Power

I have long enjoyed and explored the concept of the Twelve Powers and have found that they provide a helpful framework for the relationship between principle and practice. This year I am sharing my “power poems” in my “jottings” column. Each poem is combined with a quote from Charles Fillmore’s writings, a scripture, and an affirmation. I hope you will find these “Power Pages” interesting and inspiring.

“Spiritual power is omnipresent. It is released in our body by spiritualizing our consciousness. This divine energy will surge through us as we erase negative thoughts from consciousness and become one with God-Mind.” Revealing Word, page 151

In the beginning was the Word ~
and the Word was
I Am.

In the beginning was the Word ~
and the Word was
Let There Be.

From the beginning
until this moment
that slips away even as we speak,
the power of the Word
has been held in these principles.

First, the power of Self-Identification ~
declaring what we would be
through the use of
I Am.

Second, the power of Decree ~
calling forth what we would form
through the use of
Let There Be.

What an awesome gift we have been given ~
the power to create a world~
the power of the Word!

“You shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you.”
Acts 1:8

Affirmation: There is only One Power and One Presence in the universe and in my life, God, the Good.
