April 2006 ~ Judgment

Over the past few months I have written a series of poems based on the Twelve Powers. I am sharing one of these poems each month during this year of 2006. The poems are unrhymed but they do have a certain rhythm. I encourage you to read them aloud. Combined with a quote from Charles Fillmore’s writings, a scripture, and an affirmation, I hope you will find these “Power Pages” interesting and inspiring.

"Judgment is spiritual discernment; the inner voice through whose expression we come into a larger realization of ourselves."
Revealing Word, pg.113

Come, let us make a world
where what is… is what is!
Not better, not worser,
not higher, not lower,
not righter, not wronger…
just… what is!

Come, let us make a world
that is free of comparison,
free of condemnation,
free of criticism.

How shall we make such a world,
given, as we are,
to judging one thing
by relating it to another?

We will make this world
by practicing true judgment,
a singleness of vision,
beholding each as of itself:
whole, perfect, complete.

Thus, will we make a world of
safety and honor.
Thus will we make a world of unity.

“Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” John 7:24

Affirmation: Through divine judgment, I see with the eye of compassion.
