February 2006 ~ Release

One of my recent self-assignments has been to write a series of poems based on the Twelve Powers. I have decided to share one of these poems each month during this year of 2006. Combined with a quote from Charles Fillmore’s writings, scripture, and affirmation, I hope you will find these “Power Pages” interesting and inspiring. (Poetry needs to be read aloud for full appreciation. Try it!)

“A healthy state of mind is attained when the thinker willingly lets go the old thoughts and takes on the new. This is illustrated by the inlet and outlet of a pool of water.” Revealing Word, pg.167

Breathing in and breathing out,
we hardly think about
what this means.
In with the good air, out with the bad,
endlessly repeating, day in and day out.

What are the elements
of this simple practice
that keeps us alive?
Must it always be done the same way?
Why not breathe in and in and in?
We have only to try this
to receive our answer.
Breathing out is necessary to breathing in.

Is there something to be learned here?
Is there a larger application?
Is there anything in our world
that does not require this balance
of getting and letting go?
Even clouds must spill their fullness as rain.

Breathing in and breathing out,
we are whole.

Affirmation: Letting go of all that no longer serves me, I am free to live joyfully and abundantly.

“For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it. “ Matthew 16:25
