July 2006 ~ Power

I have long enjoyed and explored the concept of the Twelve Powers and have found that they provide a helpful framework for the relationship between principle and practice. This year I am sharing my “power poems” in my “jottings” column. Each poem is combined with a quote from Charles Fillmore’s writings, a scripture, and an affirmation. I hope you will find these “Power Pages” interesting and inspiring.

In the beginning was the Word ~
and the Word was
I Am.

In the beginning was the Word ~
and the Word was
Let There Be.

From the beginning
until this moment
that slips away even as we speak,
the power of the Word
has been held in these principles.

First, the power of Self-Identification ~
declaring what we would be
through the use of
I Am.

Second, the power of Decree ~
calling forth what we would form
through the use of
Let There Be.

What an awesome gift we have been given ~
the power to create a world~
the power of the Word!

“You shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you.” Acts 1:8

Affirmation: There is only One Power and One Presence in the universe and in my life, God, the Good.
