May 2006 ~ Order
During this year of 2006 I am sharing a series of poems I recently wrote. These poems are based on the teaching of the Twelve Powers. They are unrhymed but they do have a certain rhythm. I encourage you to read them aloud. I have combined each poem with a quote from Charles Fillmore’s writings, a scripture, and an affirmation, I hope you will find these “Power Pages” interesting and inspiring.
“Order is the first law of the universe. Indeed, there could be no universe unless its various parts were kept in perfect order. Everything is governed by fixed law, and harmony is its expression.” (Revealing Word, pages 56 and 91)
How can there be order
when nothing stays the same?
How can a way of being and of doing
be maintained when every moment is new?
Is it a human folly to even suppose
we can superimpose an order
upon that which God has made?
Or is God the order?
Is God the one thing, the only thing,
that does not change?
Or does God change…
in ways that are imperceptible
to human sight or knowing…
in ways that do not seem
to make a difference
in sunrise or seasons,
in cycles of planets or moons or stars?
How can there be order
when nothing stays the same?
Perhaps the changing is the order,
allowing for the eternal flow
of dissolution and creation,
dissolution and creation,
dissolution and creation ~
the very essence of change
that is the only constant.
“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
Affirmation: Divine Order is established in my mind, body, and affairs and all is well.
